Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 8:1-13, 'Maintain brotherly love, integrity and compassion within witnessing paschal faith communities'.
Key verse: "But take care that this liberty of yours does not some how become a stumbling block to the weak" (1 Corinthians 8:9).
In today's Epistle 1 Corinthians 8:1-13, the apostle Paul discusses the subtle deception and destruction of the inappropriate dominion of the mind of the flesh, within witnessing paschal faith communities. Jesus Christ, Paul and other spiritually mature believers, within Christ-centered, spiritually awake, paschal faith community, knew that the normal practice of eating meat previously offered to idols within that culture, did not defile believes (Mark 7:14-15). Some weak and immature believers were convinced this practice defiled them. The practice of believers eating this meat, became a stumbling blocks to both believers and unbelievers, in steadfastly following Jesus Christ in liberty, integrity, compassion, grace and truth, within their different traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups, in understanding and embracing the universal Gospel of Christ, as revealed in Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17).
Because many understood, taught and practiced the Gospel of Christ, in the mind of the flesh, they distorted the true knowledge of Godhead and eating foods, as revealed in Jesus Christ. Self-sacrifice, compassion, love, and mutual edification did not reign within their witnessing paschal faith community. Paul described the carnal minded approaches to the Gospel of Christ as idolatrous worship and religious practices. In their self-deception and conceit, these carnal minded believers misrepresented the true nature of God and God's true relationship with mankind in and through Christ, as revealed in Jesus Christ as Messiah (1 Corinthians 8:1-3).
Paul assured these carnal minded believes, that if they would repent, and live their faith and lives in the mind of the spirit, they would discern and know that there in but One God. They would experience God as omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent SPIRIT (John 4:23). Christ-centered spiritually awake believers, who chooses to follow Jesus Christ in living the Paschal Mystery, would experience God as Father, eternal Being. Christ as indwelling and incarnate Son of God, eternally Begotten, in the spiritual body of all people and Holy Spirit as God eternally begetting from the Father and the Son, in our personal lives and throughout all creation (Genesis 1:26-27, John 1:1-5, Luke 4:16-20, 1 Corinthians 8:4-6).
Down through the ages and generations, mankind's ignorance God presence and true nature, have created spiritual deception, spiritual blindness and spiritual immaturity within all traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups. In the mind of the flesh, formalism in worship, liturgy, sacraments and rituals may become false gods. When they are not taught and practiced in the mind of the spirit, they may create inappropriate liberty, criticism, stumbling blocks and offenses to the Godhead, believers and unbelievers alike (1 Corinthians 8:7-9).
True knowledge of God is realized when believers in all traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups, live their unique faiths and lives in the mind of the spirit. The true human freedom, liberty and civility of the Gospel of Christ are realized by daily practical application of the universal Christ-centered, spiritual mindedness, which Jesus Christ taught and practiced, with the wisdom, integrity, compassion and love of the mind of the spirit. Like Jesus Christ, in the mind of the spirit, spiritually awake believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit to not only teach, heal and cast out evil spirits. They are also empowered by the Holy Spirit to avoid sinning against God, sinning against others, and sinning against God's creation (Luke 4:16-21).
When the Gospel of Christ is taught and practiced in the mind of the spirit, human thoughts, attitudes, feelings and actions are transformed. In the power of the Holy Spirit, they are no longer evil influences and stumbling block to weak believers, with witnessing paschal faith communities (1 Corinthians 8:8-10). By steadfastly following Jesus Christ in living the Paschal Mystery, Christ centered believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit, to live their lives in solidarity with Jesus Christ as Messiah, in the mind of the spirit.
In the power of the Holy Spirit believers discern and cast out the inappropriate thoughts, inconsiderate attitudes and judgments, and the defiling actions of the Man of Lawlessness, the mind of the flesh (2 Thessalonians 3:1-10). In the mind of the spirit, believers learn to embrace the Brotherhood of Man, under the Lordship of Christ. As good examples of agape love, integrity, compassion, grace and truth, within their witnessing paschal faith communities, these believers abstain from practices which are stumbling blocks to weaker believers (1 Corinthians 8:11-13).
In today's epistle the apostle Paul reminds believers in all traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups that there is One God, and that God is Spirit. Believers are encouraged to always teach and worshipped God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Let us never forget that the Solomon in Ecclesiastes 7:29 made this soul searching declaration about mankind, "See, this alone I have found, that God made human beings straightforward (upright), but they have devised many schemes (inventions)".

Redeeming The Time By Living The Paschal Mystery
Reference scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, 'Passing away of life, in the mind of the flesh'
Key verse: '...and those who deal with this world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away' (1 Corinthians 7:31).
In Romans 8:1-17, the apostle Paul describes, the depletion, destruction and passing away of the believer potential life in Christ, because of the inappropriate dominion of the mind of the flesh in their thought life, relationships, actions and lives. In 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, Paul describes redeeming the time, by following Jesus Christ in living the Paschal Mystery, in the mind of the spirit. Like the prophet Joel, Paul summarizes restoring, what the locust of the mind of the flesh has eaten in these words, "So then brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh - for if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body. For all who are lead by the spirit of God are children of God" (Joel 2:25, Romans 8:12).
With a sense of great urgency and knowing that our human incarnation does not last long, Paul tells all Christ centered, spiritually resurrected believers, they should repent of their sins of spiritual sleep, spiritual blindness, spiritual deafness and hardness of heart. Paul seems to recall and reiterate Jesus admonition to the apostle Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things, but on human things" (Mark 8:33). Paul recommends that they cast down and cross out the inappropriate dominion of the mind of the flesh, in their personal lives and within their witnessing paschal faith communities (Mark 8:34). He admonishes Christ-centered believers to clothe their souls, hearts, minds, relationships and lives in the mind of the spirit. Paul recommends they give highest priority to divine order and divine thing, in their daily lives and affairs (1 Corinthians 7:29).
Paul reminds believers in all traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups that inappropriate dominion of the mind of the flesh brings unbelief, rejection of God's presence and promises, and spiritual death. The mind of the flesh distorts the true meaning of human mourning as well as human rejoicing. He suggest that God's divine order and divine plan of redemption for human lives are distorted in our experiences and relationships, when believers live their lives in the mind of the flesh (1 Corinthians 7:30).
To Paul, for believers to redeem the time, they must discern, affirm and appropriate the Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-based meaning of these words of Jesus to Pilate, when following Jesus in living the Paschal mystery, "My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would by fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here" (Luke 17:20-21, John 3:7, 18:36; 1 Corinthians 7:31).
We conclude this discussion with Paul's summary of redeeming the time, by living the Paschal Mystery, in the mind of the spirit. "But you (spiritually awake believers), are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies, also through his Spirit that dwells in you" (Romans 8:9-11).

Epistles And Temples Of the Godhead In Living The Paschal Mystery
Reference Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, 'Glorify the Godhead in your Spirit, mind and body'.
Key Verse: "But any one united to the Lord, becomes one spirit with him" (1 Corinthians 6:17).
Living the Paschal Mystery is the truth that continues unfolding about the regeneration of the living Christ and the Holy Spirit in believers' lives. It is the truth about believers passing over from the slavery of sin, into the freedom of the love of God, in Christ. The Paschal Mystery shows the Godhead's divine love to all people (John 3:16-17). Freedom in Christ also brings ethical, moral and social responsibilities to follow Jesus Christ in righteousness.
Believers follow Jesus Christ in living the Paschal Mystery by self-denial and taking up their cross daily (Mark 8:34). In the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, they cross out the inappropriate dominion of the mind and works of the flesh. In the mind of the spirit, believers are united with Jesus Christ as Messiah and are empowered by the Holy Spirit to manifest the gifts and fruit of spirit, here on earth, in their present physical bodies (Galatians 5:22-26).
In today's epistle, the apostle Paul reminds Christ-centered spiritually awake believers that human beings are designed for God's glory. As spiritually awake believers they have been resurrected from spiritual death. In the mind of the spirit, by adoption, they are now united to Jesus Christ as Messiah in Christ, God's Only Begotten Son. In this begetting action of the Holy Spirit, through repentance, faith, humility and obedience, spiritually awake individuals and witnessing paschal faith communities are now spiritual and physical epistles and temples of the Godhead in Christ.
Paul suggest that all things are lawful for him, but all things are not beneficial from him and other believers. He affirms that in Christ, he will not be dominated by any thing, especially the mind and works of the flesh. He gives several examples of the works of the the flesh, which he felt should be avoided by believers, within witnessing paschal faith communities. They include gluttony, impurity, fornication and prostitution (1 Corinthians 6:12-13, Galatians 5:16-21).
In living the Paschal Mystery, through his passion, death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus Christ fully revealed and modeled the mind, works and lives of believers who have fully passed over from life on earth in the mind the flesh, to a new and glorified life with the Godhead in the mind of the spirit. Jesus Christ as Messiah revealed God's ideal Christ-centered way of truth and the life of righteousness for all mankind (John 14:6). In the mind of the spirit, Jesus Christ revealed Christ as the indwelling and incarnate, image and likeness of God, in the spiritual body of every persons (Genesis 1:26-27, John 4:24). In Christ-centered witnessing paschal faith communities, the inappropriate dominion of the mind and works of the flesh must be cast down and cast out if we are to be epistles and temples of the Godhead here on earth (Mark 8:34, 1 Corinthians 6:14-17).
Through repentance, faith, humility and obedience, the spirits, minds, emotions, relationships and bodies of believers are mysteriously united to the Godhead in Christ, through the spiritual body of all persons. In the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, Christ-centered, spiritually awake believers in all traditions, religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups are united to Jesus Christ and one another in Christ, by living the Paschal Mystery. Jesus Christ is the visible Savior and Way-shower and Christ as Logos (ADONAI, JEHOVAH) is the invisible Lord, Owner and Master in believers' personal lives and in witnessing paschal faith communities (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
Is your witnessing paschal faith community committed to following Jesus Christ in living the Paschal Mystery? Are believers within your faith community committed to being epistles and temples of the indwelling and incarnate Godhead, true manifestations of the body of Christ and divine love, here on earth? Are you willing with God's help to cast down and cast out the inappropriate dominion of the mind and works of the flesh, in your daily life?. Will you put on the appropriate dominion of the mind of the spirit, in order to be an epistle and temple of the divine love and glory of God in Christ.
