Scripture text: John 10:1-10, 'The Historical Jesus, as Mankind's True Shepherd'
Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-based believers in all the world religions, cultures, ethnic and secular groups are called by God to care for and shepherd God's people throughout our plant. In today’s Gospel reading we find Jesus' allegory and teaching about his good pastoring and good shepherding of God’s people into Christ-centered kingdom living, here on earth. Jesus calls his universal Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-based teaching and ministry good shepherding.
The historical Jesus revealed that the Christ of Faith is God’s unique presence and individualized image and likeness, in the spiritual body of the historical Jesus and every person. Jesus taught and modeled the Paschal Mystery of the Christ of Faith’s incarnate and visible ministry as mankind's universal Spiritual Pastor and Spiritual Shepherd. The risen Son of God, the Christ of Faith, is mankind's universal, inner Universal Shepherd [Psalm 23:1]. The Christ of Faith is mankind's Spiritual Pastor and Spiritual Shepherd, hidden in his spiritual body of the historical Jesus and the spiritual body of all people [Mark 8:31].
This Paschal Mystery of mankind’s actual deliverance and freedom from indwelling sin, while living here on earth. It is mankind actually passing over into the freedom of God’s love in the living Christ of Faith. The Paschal Mystery is realized only through the incarnate and invisible Good Shepherd, the Christ of Faith, in the spiritual body of the historical Jesus and all people [John 10:10, 14:6].
Christ-centered, spiritually awake believers in all religions, culture, ethnic and secular groups recognize that throughout his life, death, resurrection and ascension, the historical Jesus became the full human incarnation and manifestation of mankind’s universal, Spiritual Good Shepherd. Christ-centered, spiritually awake believers do find in the historical Jesus' teachings, the principles, guidance and power needed for repentance, healthy spiritual growth, Christ-like spiritual formation and effective apostolic action, as the body of Christ throughout our planet.
